Suesanne,
No need to apologize... Hopefully the next post will be more "tender bird" appropriate ;)

Thank you for taking the time to read, but more-so, thank you for sharing your thoughts here!! And I do agree with you, the Lord is far more concerned with my character than my momentary happiness, which is a hard truth to wrap my brain around sometimes!

Again, thank you!

What an encouraging statement! Thank you! Part of my journey has been learning to take life seriously, while giving myself a little grace... Glad you were encouraged, and don't worry, there are A LOT more words in this brain!

I appreciate the 6 steps you provided above. I grew up in a church that encouraged dancing, speaking in tongues and prophecy. So it was not weird to me, UNTIL I left that church. Now when I am exposed to people who do these things, it makes me a little uneasy at first.

Anyway, I have been told I have the gift of prophecy and that really excites me! However, sometimes I am fearful of saying/hearing the wrong thing. The 6 steps above simplify it and it seems less scary now. Especially that He will NEVER ask me to speak against the written word. That alone provides a lot of clarity!

Hi Dennis,
Loved your transperancy and openess...this sounded more like self-talk which many of us are guilt of, in a good way!

Have you noticed that God tries us in things oppesit to our liking, preference or nature? I am a social bean, and a healing attention addict too! I blame it on personality, I talk a lot, and some people love that, others hate it with passion! I find that I have struggled most with loneliness despite the so many people I know and love around the world! I get plenty of love and support, but God still chooses to allow loneliness in my life!

It's not that He's cruel, or enjoys my suffering, not at all! It's that he's a lot more interested in my character building than my happiness piling! I think! What do you think?

forgive my many spelling/grammar mistakes...I grew up speaking several languages and am still a confused child!

Thanks for allowing me to share my thoughts with ya, just like you shared openly and honestly with us! I would have loved to share your post on my FB page, but I mentor young girls and do not permit any 'off' language on my page! Forgive me, I am an adult who do understand your use-age here, but my 'tender birds', as I call them in other languages, won't!

I followed your link from Donald Miller's fb page. I thoroughly enjoy the candor and humor with which you approach life's challenges. Not many can translate emotion so eloquently into written word. I look forward to reading more.
Best,
Bekah

NICE! This PAGE is inspiring. I am about to make the leap and begin to share my own Story more publicly and I needed to see your words here.

This is perfect. It is the exact message I want to share. "...Yet Dennis’ message is not about blame, but rather the ability to choose how you will respond to your own challenges in life."
